Serving Fresh, Local Food

Did the fruit in your fridge come from Florida or LaConner? It makes thousands of miles of difference in taste and nutrition. That's why Chef Chris Johnson, from the Coho Cafe at United General, has chosen to buy and serve fresh, locally produced food to our visitors, staff and patients.

Chris strives to offer a colorful assortment of fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats and fish, all produced within a 50-mile radius of the hospital and purchased from local farmers. The results are astonishing: lighter, fresher entrees that sing with flavor and overflow with the nutrients that lead to better health.

"As a community hospital, we have a responsibility to help people make healthy food choices," says Chris. On Mondays, the Coho Cafe takes part in the Meatless Mondays global movement.  This public health awareness campaign would like to help you improve your personal health by helping you be aware of how large amounts of meat consumption can affect your health.

The Coho Cafe at United General Hospital not only offers delicious lunches, but they serve yummy breakfasts as well.  In addition to the menu below, the Coho Cafe daily offers a wonderful salad bar ($.32 per ounce), a good tasting vegetarian option, and they can serve you a meal from our deli / grill.

The Coho Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Breakfast hours are 6:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Lunch hours are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The deli and grill is open from 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
