The Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) maintains a website that compares hospital charges and other information. Now you can easily compare the quality of care provided at United General Hospital as well as other hospitals in Skagit County and the state.

You will see that United has scored higher than the state and national averages on important quality measures like infection control. We are also pleased to report that our patient satisfaction scores are very high.

The is also a website that lets you compare the cost of hospital services.

"When you compare the costs of the various hospitals, in most cases small community  hospitals are less expensive then larger hospitals for comparable care," said Greg Reed, CEO at United General. "A good example is the comparison of the cost for the treatment of heart failure at United General, compared to other hospitals in Skagit County."

The overhead expenses at larger hospitals is greater than at small community hospitals. Just another reason that community hospitals like United are so important to protect and support.
