Rehabilitation Services Staff

Simon Bacaltos, PT, DPT

Simon gained all of his clinical experience in New York City; he comes from varied physical therapy settings from acute, sub-acute, long-term care, rehabilitation, school-base, home care and outpatient. He specializes in treating a spectrum of movement dysfunction in geriatrics, musculoskeletal and neurological patients.

Education & Professional Affiliations Certifications/Licenses:
Simon has undergraduate degrees in biology and physical therapy.  He has a masters of science in Physical Therapy from Long Island University in Brooklyn NY; a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stony Brook University/SUNY in Long Island, NY; and a certificate in Gerontology from Marymount Manhattan College.
He is member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Geriatric section.

Personal Interests:
Simon is interested in the mind-body movement therapy and is currently studying hypnotherapy at BTC. He is also interested in Chinese medicine & Qigong, meditation, yoga, movement therapies, aikido and exploring nature’s wonder in the northeast Washington


Nancy Cullinane, PT, MHS

Nancy has practiced physical therapy in a variety of settings and ran a private practice in Juneau, Alaska for several years before moving to Washington with her family in 2005

Specialties:
Pelvic floor dysfunctions and the lower extremities. 

Education and Professional Certification:
PT certificate from Mayo clinic and a Master’s Degree in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. 
She is a member of the National Association for Continence, The International Pelvic Pain Society and the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Women’s Health.  

Personal Interest: 
Nancy lives in Bellingham with her husband and two children.  She enjoys spending time outdoors whether it is working in the garden, hiking or playing in the snow.


Christine Breeze, MA SLP-CCC

Specialties:
Christine developed and coordinated an Interdisciplinary Day Treatment Program for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, Connecticut for eight years. Upon returning to the West Coast, Christine took a position as Clinical Specialist in the Neuro-Rehabilitation Department at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

Education & Professional Certifications:
Master’s Degree and certificate of competency in Speech – Language Pathology at Washington State University

Personal Interests:
Spending time outdoors hiking and camping with her family.


Carol Morgan, OTR/L

Carol trained in the Northwest and initially practiced on the Washington Peninsula, in the areas of Sequim and Port Angeles. She has been at United General Hospital since 2002. She has worked in a variety of settings including acute home health rehab, skilled nursing and outpatient rehab.

Specialties:
Hand Therapy, neuro rehab, and driving screening. She enjoys working with the geriatric population.

Education & Professional Certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Washington in 1992. Her continuing education is primarily in orthopedics and hand therapy.

Personal Interests:
Gardening and playing with grandchildren


Marie Salerno, OTR/L, CLT

Marie was raised and trained in Minnesota.  She moved to Washington State and has practiced in a variety of setting including acute, subacute, and out patient

Specialties:
Certified Lymphedema Therapist, breast cancer rehab, neuro rehab, general orthopedics, adult rehab, geriatric and psychiatric populations.

Education and Professional Certifications:
Occupational Therapy Bachelor of Arts, College of St. Catherine’s St Paul Minnesota 1975
Certified Lymphedema Therapist through Academy of Lymphatic Studies June 2009.
Washingtopm State Licensure.
National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Personal Interest:
Karate, reading, jewelry making, gardening, quilting and camping


Tina Richards, PT, OCS

Tina has practiced physical therapy in the out patient orthopedic setting for the past 20 years. She established and managed a private pratice in Mill Creek from 1999 to 2005 treating a variety of orthopedic and sports medicine diagnoses from ACL repairs to chronic cervical pain. In 2006 she left management and has continued patient care in orthopedics.  

Specialties:
The shoulder joint complex and pregnancy and post partum

Education and Professional Certification:
B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington in 1991. She is a board certified orthopedic specialist.

Personal Interest:
Tina lives in Arlington with her husband and daughter. They love the outdoors and enjoy waterskiing, snowmobiling, biking and hiking in their free time together.  


Lauren Anderson PT, DPT

Lauren joined United General Hospital after graduating from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012. Prior to her doctoral studies she attended Oregon State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science in 2009. She is originally from Beaverton, Oregon.

Areas of interest consist of orthopedics including post total joint replacement and shoulder injuries, as well as sports rehabilitation.

Personal Interests:
Lauren and her husband enjoy being back in the Pacific NW and look forward to exploring the area and taking part in all of the outdoor activities.
