The laboratory at United General Hospital is committed to providing accurate and timely laboratory results with professional, friendly service. From routine testing to esoteric testing, and from health screening to genomic testing, our goal is to make your visit simple, pleasant and efficient.
Location
The lab is located just a few steps inside the hospital. Please come to the main entrance, register at the front desk, and you will be directed to the lab.
Hours
The lab is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments are not required.
Getting Results
All test results are reported to your licensed practitioner so they can discuss the results with you. Laboratory staff is not authorized to give test results directly to patients unless authorized by a licensed practitioner.
Cholesterol and Vitamin D Screenings
We offer two self-ordered tests that are available to the public every Friday morning (except holidays) from 8:00 a.m. to noon. No appointment is needed, simply come to the front desk to check in. Cholesterol screening includes total cholesterol check (HDL, LDL, triglycerides), and glucose levels. A 12-hour fast is required; water and medications are okay. Results are mailed to you and/or your health care provider. Vitamin D screenings are available for $35. Fasting is not required. Results are mailed to you and/or your health care provider. Payment is required at the time of service; cash, checks, credit/debit cards are accepted.

Q. My physician does not practice at United and the lab order I was given has another hospital name on it. Can I bring this paperwork to the United General Laboratory?
A. Yes, your lab order is just like a prescription for medication that can be filled at the pharmacy of your choice. As long as your paperwork includes the correct information and an authorized signature, you are welcome to have your lab work done at United. When you arrive at United, you will need to register at the front desk. Please bring along your insurance information.
Q. I have a laboratory test order from a provider who is from another state. Can I still get my laboratory work done at United General Laboratory?
A. Yes. You can bring your laboratory orders to the lab or have your provider fax them to us. Our fax number is 360-856-7142. When you arrive at United, you will need to register at the front desk. Please bring along your insurance information.
Q. Can I get my lab test results from the laboratory staff?
A. No, sorry. Due to privacy policies, the laboratory staff does not release results of any tests directly to a patient. If you are curious or anxious about test results, please contact your provider’s office.
